I wasn’t a bad kid in primary school, I only got in to trouble a few times over the course of the 7 years. But when I was in P7, there was this girl who was really getting to me because she was a bully and horrible to loads of the girls in the class. I knew she always went home for her lunch and I knew what door she would come back in when she was done. When nobody was looking I sneaked to the bathroom and got out some paper and a pencil and wrote ‘Fuck off (insert girl’s name)’ in capital letters and I even underlined it in red for emphasis (with an exclamation mark at the end, obvioiusly) and I sat it neatly on the top step outside the door she would use. Anyway I went back to the class - it was pouring down so it was a wet break - and waited patiently. She came in absolutely raging 10 minutes before the bell and told the teacher who took it very seriously and went mental. The teacher got out everyones handwriting jotters to compare them to the letter to see if she could find the culprit, but I had been clever enough to deliberately write in a scrawl much different from my own, so I sat back and drew in my busy book while she interviewed several members of the class, none of which included me.

A few days later I was at the park and I told the bully girl ‘I know we don’t get on but whoever wrote that letter to you is terrible’.

Nobody to this day knows it was me. Except you guys, now. Feel privileged that you all know the secret to one of the centuries biggest crimes.
